About the title
The 1930s — a time when the streets of Shanghai were ruled by the brutal laws established by gangs that had carved the city into spheres of influence. A gang called the Axes strikes fear into ordinary residents and inspires young imitators to acts of daring. One day, one such overly hot-headed young man causes real havoc in the slums on the outskirts of the city while posing as one of the Axes. This sparks a war between the real gang members and the residents of the local buildings, who turn out to be masters of kung fu.
