About the title
The late 1990s. Thirteen-year-old Sonya, along with her mother and younger sister Anya, is forced to move to a village. She's not at all happy about the change of scenery. Things don't go well with the locals, and there isn't much to do for fun — aside from sneaking into an abandoned house wrapped in silly legends about an evil Puppeteer who supposedly steals children and turns them into marionettes. But ever since the sisters looked inside the house, something strange has been happening to quiet, lonely Anya. After all, if no one plays with the children, the Puppeteer will.
