About the title
Fourteen-year-old Sonya unexpectedly learns that her mother lied to her for years about her father's death and forbade him from seeing his daughters. Unable to forgive such a betrayal, she runs away from home. Her mother and older sister Sasha find Sonya at their old dacha, which no one has visited for many years. The three women are finally forced to talk through all the problems, grievances, and fears that had been so carefully suppressed for years. This marks the beginning of a long journey to restore their family bonds.
