1939. One day, a loyal friend enters little Mitya's life - a dog named Karuza. But their happiness collapses when the war begins. Leningrad falls under siege, and people are dying of hunger. Karuza, now a grown, strong and clever dog, starts finding food for the city's residents. Inspired by her courage, Mitya decides to help: together they can find more. But one day, during a dangerous foray, the Germans discover them.
