About the title
In late summer 2014, just before the onset of cold Yakutian autumn, four-year-old Karina disappears in a village on the edge of the forest. Her family, volunteers, and rescuers exhaust themselves searching hundreds of kilometers of taiga. Meanwhile, the barefoot child, with no warm clothing, wanders through the taiga — full of blood-sucking insects and dangerous predators — together with a dog.
