About the series
The animated series tells how young SpongeBob and his friends spend the summer at Kamp Koral, a camp located in a kelp forest, where they take part in activities such as jellyfishing, building campfires, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck. The camp is run by Mr. Eugene Krabs, a single father raising his little daughter Pearl. Camp activities are overseen by Mrs. Puff, who serves as scoutmaster and art teacher. SpongeBob lives in a cabin with his friends Patrick Star, Sandy Cheeks, and Squidward Tentacles, the last of whom leads the group, is a bit older, and serves as a junior camp counselor. The local chef, Plankton, runs a secret laboratory beneath the camp, where his computer assistant Karen helps him create elaborate inventions. Episodes follow SpongeBob and his friends as they learn more about the camp, explore new places, and take part in various activities.
