About the title
One day, in the very center of Moscow, two thirty-year-old actresses meet: pushy and energetic Sonya, who came from Omsk to conquer the capital, and Masha, a native Muscovite. Despite having plenty of opportunities, Masha settles for dubbing cartoons for next to nothing, since off-camera one need not be afraid of looking funny or strange. Both girls cherish the dream of soon becoming movie stars, but it's not so easy to win one's place in the world of big cinema alone. Joining forces, the young actresses complement each other perfectly, which allows them to successfully audition for roles in a historical melodrama where the leads are played by their idols. However, very soon the girls will have to face the not-so-attractive underside of stardom. And it's unclear whether their friendship can withstand this severe test of strength.
