About the title
Filo lost his mother early on, and the only thing he has left of her is the dog Birillo, which she once gave him. The dog became more than just a pet for the boy — a living thread connecting him to the person dearest to him. But one day, during a violent storm, Birillo disappears into the forest. Filo cannot accept this and decides to find him no matter what. His best friend Rullo joins him on the dangerous journey. What began as a search for a dog turns into a real trial: the boys will have to face their own fears, meet the mysterious mountain man Guelfo Tabacchi, and discover that something far more serious lies behind this story.
