About the title
Radio broadcasts suddenly cut off, the sound of helicopters and exploding shells, gunfire, and crowds of looters in the streets — this is how the American invasion of Panama began in 1989. The film contains no archival footage or materials at all; its main device is interviews with ordinary Panamanian residents who suffered from the invasion, filmed 25 years after it took place. The filmmakers even managed to speak with military dictator Manuel Noriega, who was still alive at the time and serving his sentence in prison.
