About the series
Igor Skobelev is an operative at one of St. Petersburg's district police departments. He's tough, cynical, and highly professional, used to working alone and always following his own personal code. Secretly, though, this guardian of the law dreams of quitting dangerous work to run his bar, "Skoba". He doesn't let dangerous criminals slip away, doesn't take bribes, and always keeps his word — though he sometimes uses his position for his own purposes. One day this catches up with him: under threat of violence, Skobelev's own informant slanders him, claiming the operative supplies him with drugs. His boss gives Skobelev a choice: transfer to the organized crime unit, become a "mole," and report everything he learns about the suspicious death of Colonel Sevastyanov — or go to prison.
