About the title
Looking back, Marco Carrera sees his life not as a film but as a photo album. Here he is ten years old, forty, or seventy, and every time life bustles around him. His story begins with a summer on the Tuscan coast, where the boy first falls in love with Luisa and experiences a great tragedy. Then he's in Rome and Paris, then working as a doctor, with a wife, Marina, and a daughter, Adele, but Marco keeps remembering his first love. People appear and disappear around Marco, happy and sad moments occur, and the hero is by turns joyful and sorrowful. Beyond the longing, sadness and reflections on how things could have been different, the central question tormenting Marco is: how to overcome failures and losses while remaining true to himself?
