About the title
The life story of the outstanding Czech composer Josef Mysliveček, who achieved fame in the great opera houses of Italy, where he earned the nickname 'the Divine Bohemian.' Josef Mysliveček was born in 1737 in Prague into a family of hereditary millers. He himself was meant to follow in his father's footsteps, but his love and extraordinary talent for music decided his fate instead. To perfect his craft as a composer, the young Josef travels to Italy — the mecca of musical art. Despite the hardships, he achieves success, and his operas captivate the sophisticated public, who call the Czech genius 'Il Divino Boemo' — the Divine Bohemian. The finest singers performed in his productions, and his music inspired the young Mozart. Yet the Bohemian's fame would prove as fleeting as the glitter and splendor of theatrical magic.
