About the title
This is the story of four fathers, four daughters, and four candidates for sons-in-law, who, as the second half of the title suggests, together make up a dirty dozen. Each of the fathers wants his daughter to marry the richest heir. Each daughter thinks she's marrying the son of the richest man. Each son pretends to be the richest heir. Nevertheless, all these people can't stand each other, yet they all end up under one roof, in the same house.
