About the title
Everything gets turned upside down at Hotel Transylvania: Van Helsing's mysterious invention, the "monstrification ray," breaks down and accidentally turns Dracula and his friends into humans, while Johnny, conversely, is turned into a monster. Stripped of their powers and familiar forms, Drac and his friends, along with Johnny — who unexpectedly enjoys discovering his monstrous side — set off on a round-the-world trip in search of a cure for the transformation. And, of course, they can't manage without Mavis's help, before it's too late and they drive each other crazy.
