About the title
In 1938, after a parody of Hitler that outraged the Nazi authorities, apolitical comedian, impersonator and cabaret performer Hans Zeisig is forced to flee Germany. Instead of the America and Hollywood that beckon him, he has to settle for a Soviet passport and Moscow. There he ends up at the legendary Hotel Lux, a gathering place for Comintern members from all over the world.
