About the title
Horton the elephant has such big ears that, it turns out, he can even hear a flower talking to him - or rather, the creatures who live on it. But if an elephant starts talking to and listening to a flower, surely he must be crazy? That's what all the other animals think. But Horton doesn't care. He considers it his duty to save the flower's population from an outside threat.
