About the title
The very enjoyable, in many ways extravagant and exaggerated comedy Hitch, thanks to the performances of Will Smith (the 'date doctor' Hitch) and a wonderful Eva Mendes, plays almost like a real love story — a true, heartfelt melodrama. Of course, with laughter and absurd situations, since Hitch's original profession is helping his clients, in the spirit of a modern, not-yet-in-love Cyrano de Bergerac, 'woo' the most unattainable beauties. But everything changes when the protagonist runs into resistance: while trying to help Kevin James's shy character win over socialite Allegra (Amber Valletta), Hitch's scientific method collides with the perceptiveness and beauty of journalist Sara.
