About the title
Lame orphan Halvdan lives in a Viking village without friends or family. He isn't considered a true Viking, and is mocked and ignored. For centuries, the villagers have been at war with their neighbors. One day, while walking to the river, Halvdan meets Meja, the daughter of the enemy ruler. Their friendship and love overcome the divide between the two warring clans. Halvdan's ingenuity and Meja's cunning help them reconcile the two feuding sides, so that long-awaited peace and prosperity can finally come to the valley.
