About the series
In the 26th century, a fierce war rages between the Earth forces of the United Nations Space Command and a religious alliance of several alien races. Humanity fights with all its might for survival, yet keeps losing ground on every front. The last hope becomes Project SPARTAN-II — a program to create augmented humans meant to be the most effective weapon against the aliens. The enemy finds and destroys the planet along with the Spartans. Only one ship manages to escape — the "Pillar of Autumn," carrying the last surviving Spartan, John-117. It is he who must change the course of the war when he finds himself on the mysterious alien artifact Halo — a ringworld.
