About the title
The protagonist gets permission from his wife for a free relationship with other women. A similar situation arises in his best friend's family. When the men's wives also decide to use a similar "pass," the story takes a new turn. At first glance it sounds like the dream come true for Rick and Fred, but very soon they find out that their ideas about bachelor life — and about themselves — differ greatly, and quite amusingly, from reality.
