Television weatherman Phil Connors comes every year to a small town in Pennsylvania for Groundhog Day celebrations. But this time the fun threatens to go too far. Time has played a cruel joke on him: it has simply stopped. Now Phil's calendar shows the same date over and over — February 2nd — from which he cannot escape. The irrepressible anchorman tries to make the most of his comical situation: he has an abundance of time ahead and a calm, predictable future.
