About the title
Since childhood, Gretel has loved the story of a girl in a pink hood who discovered she had magical powers. Now, almost grown up, after failing to find work as a servant, Gretel and her younger brother Hansel find themselves without a home — their mother throws them out, deciding the children should learn to fend for themselves. Wandering through the forest and suffering from hunger, Gretel and Hansel stumble upon a suspicious little house where they find a table laid with delicious food, as if someone had been expecting their arrival.
