About the title
Axel Farshtad is the author of "Weight," the Norwegian novel of the century, an all-time bestseller and masterpiece next to which Hamsun is nothing. But that's all in the past: Farshtad hasn't written a book in ages, and his health is going steadily downhill. After three days in a coma, Axel wakes up to a devastating diagnosis: cirrhosis of the liver - if he doesn't stop drinking, he has at most four months left. In a desperate hope of finding inspiration and some kind of meaning, Axel heads to his favorite hotel room as a "babysitter" for the 10-year-old son of a front-desk employee.
