About the series
The series is based on the political podcast Slow Burn. Martha, the wife of US Attorney General John Mitchell, is the first to notice that her husband is involved in some kind of conspiracy. As it turns out, during the 1972 presidential campaign the Republican Party had planted wiretaps at the Democratic headquarters in the Watergate hotel. The investigation into this case ended with the impeachment of President Nixon and went down in history as the Watergate scandal.
