About the title
In March 2011, following a powerful earthquake and tsunami, a series of accidents and explosions released radioactive material at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, forcing tens of thousands of people to leave their homes. The disaster became the largest nuclear accident since Chernobyl. The film reconstructs the first days of the crisis, showing how plant staff, officials, and emergency services acted amid the chaos in an effort to avert the worst-case scenario. Interviews and archival footage reveal the causes of the tragedy and raise the question of what lessons have been learned from it.
