About the series
In the provincial town of Ottern, a pediatrician examines a girl and finds signs of rape. This doesn't look like an isolated case — moreover, children were apparently systematically abused and filmed in pornographic films. Prosecutor Cordelis brings charges against 26 people. One of the defendants is represented in court by criminal defense lawyer Richard Schlesinger, who struggles with a gambling addiction. The prosecution's case rests, among other things, on more than 300 interviews that social worker Ina Reuth conducted with the children. But soon more and more questions arise about the interview method and the alleged crimes. Schlesinger begins a fight against unfounded prejudice and against the judicial processes that caused a huge scandal.
