About the title
England, 1884 — the world is on the brink of change. On the morning of her 16th birthday, Enola Holmes wakes up to find her mother has disappeared, leaving behind a strange assortment of gifts but no obvious clue as to where she went or why. After a carefree childhood, Enola suddenly finds herself in the care of her brothers Sherlock and Mycroft, who send her off to a school for "proper" young ladies. Refusing to follow their wishes, Enola escapes to London to search for her mother. An adaptation of the first book in author Nancy Springer's "The Enola Holmes Mysteries" series.
