About the title
Even in democratic countries, where freedom of speech has historically been taken for granted, the confrontation between the media and those in power has intensified. Perhaps this is connected to globalization, the rise of the internet, the spread of fake news, and the tightening of domestic policy in some states. Or perhaps the cause lies elsewhere. The documentary project "Endangered," produced by Heidi Ewing, Rachel Grady, and Ronan Farrow, explores the nature of vanishing truth through the stories of journalists who fight every day for the freedom to speak openly.
