About the series
The Sandell family is an ordinary family made up of the priest Adam, the lawyer Ulrika, and their 19-year-old daughter Stella. They seem to live an ideal life in an affluent residential area of Lund. One day everything changes when the nineteen-year-old girl is accused of brutally murdering a man much older than her. What reason could she possibly have to know a shady businessman, let alone kill him? It must all be a terrible mistake. They want to help Stella at any cost, but do they really know their daughter? Or each other? Told from three points of view and skillfully structured into separate parts, the timeline follows both the story of the crime and the unraveling of a seemingly normal family. The Netflix series is based on the novel of the same name by Mattias Edvardsson, a Swedish writer known for psychological thrillers about troubled families. The book became a bestseller and has been translated into more than thirty languages.
