About the title
In 2154, there are two classes of people: the very rich, who live on a pristine, man-made space station called Elysium, and everyone else, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. A ruthless government official, ambitious Defense Secretary Delacourt, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of Elysium's citizens. When down-and-out Max is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a dangerous mission that, if successful, will not only save his life but could also bring equality to these two polarized worlds.
