About the title
Two elderly St. Petersburg intellectuals, husband and wife, survived the Great Patriotic War as children. Now they live alone, their children having moved away. They possess wisdom, calm, optimism, patience, and forgiveness — qualities so lacking in people today. That is why those who are cold and in need of help and support are drawn to their warmth and home like moths to a flame.
