About the title
Father Alexander is a priest at a provincial church. Over the years of his ministry, he has literally baptized the whole town, but God has not granted him and his wife Nadezhda children of their own. One day a young girl named Anastasia comes to the priest for advice: resentment is eating her up inside and won't let her live in peace. Alexander cannot stop thinking about his meeting with the unhappy girl, and he sets out to find her in order to help. The trouble is, no one in the town knows this mysterious parishioner or has ever heard of her. The priest begins his own investigation.
