About the title
Young and remarkably handsome Dorian Gray arrives in London and falls under the influence of the adventurer Lord Wotton. He convinces the young man that the secret to Dorian's success and happiness lies in his beauty, since it will let him experience all the pleasures the world has to offer. Dorian makes a deal with the Devil. He commissions a portrait of himself, and from then on all the filth of his life - full of debauchery and criminal passions - will stain and corrupt the canvas, while his own face remains eternally young and beautiful. After wandering the world for twenty-five years in search of pleasure, Dorian returns to his homeland. Caught off guard by powerful feelings, he understands for the first time the value of mutual love.
