About the title
Young Grace, fleeing a gang of gangsters, finds refuge in the small town of Dogville, somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. The locals — each seemingly kinder than the last — are willing to hide her. And in return they want nothing at all, well, except maybe a little help around the house or watching the children. But gradually the charming Dogville turns into a prison for the girl.
