About the title
The city's "godfather," Leonid Boytsov, returns home from another "business trip." His large family welcomes him with a party, but there are also matters that need to be dealt with right away. In his large, dim office, Leonid meets with people and listens to their problems. A local restaurateur also comes to him to sort things out with his partner, chef Giacomo. The Italian took the money but is in no hurry to open the restaurant. So the restaurateur wants his investment back and to pull out of the business. Leonid promises to settle the matter. But after befriending Giacomo, he "buys out" the restaurateur's share and pompously opens "Vesuvius," not suspecting that he has walked into a trap that will change his life and test his family's strength...
