About the title
Summer, 1963. Seventeen-year-old Frances, nicknamed Baby, spends her vacation with her parents at a resort hotel, where she meets Johnny, a handsome professional dancer. As if bewitched by the sensual rhythms and uninhibited moves of rhythm-and-blues-style "dirty dancing," Baby becomes Johnny's student and partner — in dance and in love.
