About the title
The plot depicts a real historical event triggered by a police raid in Detroit in July 1967. The raid led to one of the largest uprisings in the United States, in which tens of thousands of enraged residents slipped out of the authorities' control, and the city was engulfed in a wave of blood, violence, and looting. The devastating riots resulted in the deaths of 43 people.
