About the series
1915. Europe is engulfed in the flames of World War I. At this time, revolutionary theorist, political émigré, and adventurer Alexander Parvus holds negotiations with German Foreign Minister Gottlieb von Jagow. The talks end in unexpected success — the German government allocates Parvus personally "considerable funds," meant to finance revolution in Russia. Equally important characters in the film are Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, who thanks to Parvus's efforts manages to return to Russia in time to lead the revolution, and imperial counterintelligence agent Alexei Mezentsev, who risks his life to prevent the inevitable end of one era and the beginning of another.
