About the title
The lord of the abyss awaits John Constantine, certain that heaven is forever closed to those who wish to end their own lives. But Constantine failed to die. The hero has not only been to hell and back — he also has a gift for recognizing the hybrids of angels and demons who walk the earth in human form. Under the pressure of circumstances, Constantine attempts suicide to rid himself of his visions. But the attempt fails. Constantine is resurrected against his own will and finds himself back in the world of the living. Now granted a temporary lease on life, he oversees the border between heaven and hell, hoping for salvation as he battles evil's earthly agents.
