About the title
Fifty strangers wake up in a huge chamber with no idea how they got there. Arranged in a circle and unable to move, they quickly realize that every two minutes a strange device in the middle of the room will kill one of them. Soon it becomes clear that the victim isn't chosen at random — they themselves can collectively influence the choice the machine makes. But how do you decide who deserves to die? And what happens when only one person is left?
