About the series
In western China, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau rises to an altitude of over 4,000 meters. Here hardy creatures have adapted to survive amid the region's harsh landscapes. We meet the highest-living monkeys on the planet, playful Tibetan foxes, and endangered black-necked cranes raising their chicks, while elusive snow leopards blend into the mountains and Tibetan brown bears join the locals for dinner. We also meet the people of the region who strive to protect the animals and live alongside them in harmony, including local yak herders who protect endangered Tibetan antelope and their calves during a 400-mile migration to their wintering grounds.
