About the title
Ancient China, 208 AD. The cunning prime minister - and de facto ruler of the empire - Cao Cao persuades the indecisive emperor to go to war against two independent kingdoms under the pretext of unifying China. His million-strong army easily crushes the small forces of the kingdom of Shu and traps the remnants of the army in a citadel by Red Cliff, leaving them no choice but to seek help from the ruler of the kingdom of Eastern Wu, sending the military advisor Zhuge Liang there. He manages to persuade the kingdom's ruler to send an army to help the besieged forces, led by viceroy Zhou Yu. Now it remains unclear whether brute force can overcome courage and cunning.
