About the title
A love story between Léa, a beautiful, retired courtesan, and Chéri, the son of her old colleague and rival Madame Peloux. Léa teaches the spoiled but inexperienced young man the subtleties of love; their affair has lasted six years, but Madame Peloux secretly arranges Chéri's marriage to the daughter of another wealthy courtesan.
