About the series
Detective Captain Yevgeny Chagin heads into the forest near Vyborg, where, according to a report filed with the police by a Moldovan woman named Gabi, her sister has gone missing. At the search site, Chagin finds the remains of a campfire, and the next day learns that Gabi has also disappeared. Meanwhile, a new investigator, Igor Zhuk, arrives in town at the scene of a murder — one of Chagin's former classmates has killed several gangsters. Chagin tried to help his classmate cover up the evidence. A conflict arises between Zhuk and Chagin, resulting in Chagin's dismissal from the police. Soon, in the same forest, near the place where Chagin and Gabi had gone, a headless, handless body is found. Zhuk and Chagin are forced to join forces to catch the killer. They discover that the police had previously found similar bodies but never connected the cases. It becomes clear that catching the killer will not be easy, and that he is apparently not acting alone.
