About the title
Mishka and his loyal friend Dimka are schoolboys. They are getting ready to celebrate the anniversary of the Young Pioneers organization. While fishing, Mishka falls into the river, but he is saved by a stray dog, with whom the boys become fast friends... Suddenly the dog ends up in the hands of a furrier, and only their friends' help can save it from certain death. Mishka and Dimka face a difficult choice — taking part in the Pioneer celebration or saving the dog... Duty, friendship, love... Which matters more?
