About the title
"Seagull" is the name of a women's volleyball team from Kaliningrad, which coach Maxim Topol — a blunt man with a difficult, uncompromising character — is forced to take over. He intends to lead the team to the national championship. On the way to victory, he will have to work through not only his own issues and his complicated relationship with his teenage daughter, but also solve his players' problems. Each of them has her own fate, iron will, and personal struggles, and all of them are fighting desperately not only for the championship, but for the right to be happy.
