About the series
Sergei is a paramedic. His best friend, the German Paul, used to drive cars to Russia from Germany — that's how they met. Paul has another passion too — antiques. He is a "black digger": he searches battlefields for German medals, helmets, and weapons, and sells them for huge money. One day while digging, the friends find a buried dugout that transports them to 1941 and brings them face to face with the war — with soldiers whose names they had seen on gravestones that very morning. Realizing they are all doomed, Sergei and Paul make opposite decisions that fundamentally change their lives.
