About the title
The events of the film take place somewhere on the Arabian Peninsula in the 1930s, around the time oil was discovered there. The plot intertwines a struggle for power, religion, oil fever, and, of course, love. Arabian Peninsula, desert, the 1930s. The search for oil has succeeded, promising great wealth and great trouble.
