About the title
Five years ago the world descended into chaos: after seeing something, people kill themselves. Hearing on the radio about a safe haven, a woman with two five-year-old children sets out in search of a surviving community, bringing along caged birds. To stay alive in this new world, the most important rule is not to look around, and to listen to how the birds react to approaching danger.
