About the title
The story centers on detective Mark Corley, who hasn't fully come to terms with the loss of his wife and is trying to raise his only son Trent on his own. Mark begins his new day with a rather unpleasant event - posting bail for Trent, who was arrested by police. But this was far from the worst thing awaiting our hero on this day. Suddenly, alien spaceships appear over the city and begin pulling thousands of people into them with a strange bluish glow, snatching the unfortunate victims right off the streets, out of their homes, and even from the subway. During another abduction, Trent ends up among those taken. Unwilling to accept the loss, the desperate father makes a daring attempt to get aboard the alien ship to save his son.
